Work Crew is a unique short-term mission opportunity to support inner-city youth ministry.
Our camp week is about changing lives. Dirty Vagabond Ministries camp week at NorthBay brings inner-city kids to the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland for the premier Catholic camping experience. We call camp the greatest week of your life and believe this is an understatement.
NorthBay has fantastic food, ziplines, tubing, state of the art facilities, air-conditioned cabins, sailing, a giant swing, climbing walls, one of the tallest ropes course on the east coast, and more, but camp is more than the amazing activities. It’s a chance to bring hope to the hopeless. It’s a chance for unchurched kids to experience the love of Jesus in a tangible, life-changing way.
To make camp happen, we bring 30 young adults (age 18 and older) to serve and help camp run smoothly. The majority of Work Crew members (about 22) will serve in the kitchen helping to cook, serve meals, and clean-up. Other Work Crew members will serve only during Adventure time from 1-5 pm and assist kids with getting harnesses on for activities, checking out kayaks, etc. All Work Crew members can help out and participate in activities when their duties for the day are done. They also assist chaperones with small groups and help to work alongside core members with different responsibilities throughout the week.
Work Crew is a unique missions week to serve the poor in a unique way. Help make effective inner-city youth ministry a reality.
It’s free to attend, but you need to safe-environment certified (we can help get started with this) and need to cover the cost of your transportation (busing is available from Pittsburgh and Steubenville).
You'll help change lives, and we are confident this week will change your life too.
